Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all
The project goal is to develop the Battery Pack (BP) recovery supply chain in Italy, in line with the circularity paradigm, recovering a large portion of the precious metals they contain and reintroducing them into the production cycle.
The Directive of the European Parliament and Council EU No. 2018/851 of May 30, 2018, outlines a waste management hierarchy that prioritizes the reduction of waste production, adopting solutions for reuse, recycling, and recovery of waste, while relegating landfill disposal to a minimal role.
Applying the principles of the circular economy, not only to the recovery process but also to the repurposing of an abandoned industrial area and all existing civil works, efforts were made to limit land consumption, demolitions, and the use of additional raw materials.
Through an industrial process protected by copyright, these materials will be transformed into valuable secondary raw materials such as aluminum, copper, electrolytes, and Black Mass (BM), a highly sought-after fine powder containing elements such as Carbon, Nickel, Cobalt, Manganese, Lithium, and other elements in small fractions.
