In October 2018, OWAC Engineering Company, together with the companies Technital S.r.L. of Verona and I.A. Consulting S.r.L. of Naples, was awarded a Framework Contract Agreement with the Regional Government of Campania for the design of wet fraction treatment plant facilities. In addition to the design of new facilities, the Agreement also provides for the expansion or revamping of existing ones.
The Framework Contract Agreement was divided into three lots covering the Provinces of Naples, Caserta and Avellino, for a total amount of €3,900,000. The design task assigned to OWAC Engineering Company, which, together with the group, won the second lot, will cover the Province of Caserta. The contract stems from the Campania Regional Government’s compliance policy regarding European Waste Management Directives, implemented in 2016 with the update of the Regional Plan for Urban Waste Management (PRGRU). The Campania Regional Government Development Pact has allocated €250 million for the construction of organic waste treatment plants fed from separate waste collection, and 13 subsequent projects have been planned for implementation. The final design of a composting plant with a capacity of 30,000 t/year is underway.
